Pantzaris: Cyprus is Ready to Exit the Memorandum

On the occasion of the 2nd KEBE Business Leader Awards, taking place at the Evagoras Lanitis Centre in Limassol, the Managing Director of EY Cyprus, Stavros Pantzaris, spoke about the Cypriot economy and the current issue of unemployment.
“This year’s celebration of business leadership takes place at a defining moment for the future of Cyprus’s economy. Two and half years or so after Cyprus entered its financial assistance program, requiring a hitherto unprecedented means of bailout, Cyprus is ready to exit the Memorandum. We are now on the path to recovery with three successive quarters of economic growth,” Pantzaris mentioned.
“Now that our economic outlook is looking positive with encouraging prospects for the future—now more than ever—we must work together in a climate of consent to make those reforms that will improve our country succeed.”
He also highlighted, “Exiting from the Memorandum doesn’t have to mean neglecting the necessary reforms. Now that public finances have been stabilized, we must implement tenaciously and decisively the reforms that weren’t promoted enough in the past few years. It is up to all of us to see that that goal is met.”
